Orlando to Host 2027 Olympic Volleyball Qualifier
The Greater Orlando Sports Commission has announced that Orlando will serve as a U.S. host site for the 2027 FIVB Women’s World Championship qualifier at the Kia Center, marking the city’s first Olympic volleyball qualifying event. The tournament is expected to draw up to 70,000 visitors, generate $15–$20 million in economic impact, and bring global attention to downtown Orlando. Duke Energy Announces 2026 Rate Reductions
The Florida Public Service Commission has approved Duke Energy Florida’s plan to lower customer bills beginning in March 2026. Residential customers will see an estimated $44 decrease per 1,000 kWh, with commercial and industrial customers seeing reductions up to 15.8%. The rate change follows the conclusion of a temporary storm-related charge, with bills rising slightly in January and February before the decrease takes effect. Learn more about the reductions here.
Dr. Phillips Center Debuts New Frontyard Holiday Festival
Holiday magic is headed to downtown Orlando as the Dr. Phillips Center has announced its debut Frontyard Holiday Festival. Starting December 4, Seneff Arts Plaza will come alive with snowfall, nightly lights, more than 80 performances, family fun, and outdoor holiday movies.
