GO Sports 2026 Celebrating Women In Sports Awards Finalists
The Greater Orlando Sports Commission has announced the finalists for its 2026 Celebrating Women in Sports Awards, recognizing individuals and organizations making a lasting impact on Central Florida's sports community. Congratulations to the representatives from DOP member organizations Orlando Health, Orlando City SC & Orlando Pride, Track Shack Events, Orlando Magic, and Orlando Valkyries, who have been selected as finalists for this year's awards. Heart of Florida United Way and the Wells Fargo Foundation are rolling out the United Learning Lab, a mobile unit equipped with high-speed Starlink internet, laptops, and hands-on tools for financial education and workforce development. Funded by a $500,000 investment from Wells Fargo, the bus will travel across Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties to expand digital access where it's needed most. Learn more here.
New Study Reveals Dr. Phillips Center's Economic Reach
Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts has conducted a new independent analysis of its role in strengthening Central Florida, revealing a total annual economic impact of $227.6 million. The findings show the arts center supports 2,483 jobs, drives $73.1 million in off-site visitor spending at local restaurants and hotels, and generates $13.2 million in state and local taxes annually. Parking Is Going Digital Downtown
The City of Orlando is transitioning to a fully digital on-street parking payment system. Parking meters will be removed in phases throughout downtown, with payment available through the ParkMobile app, by text, or by phone.
