Downtown Sports and Entertainment District Gets a Name
The development next to the Kia Center's name has recently been revealed, shortly after the Orlando City Council approved incentives for the mixed-use project. The development has been named Westcourt, and plans to begin construction later this year with a goal of late 2026 and early 2027 for rolling out the planned high-rise residences, hotel, office and retail spaces, event venues, and parking garage. The Melrose Center Turns 10
This year, the Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation and Creativity, located in the Orlando Public Library, celebrated its 10th anniversary of offering a space for artists, photographers, musicians and creatives alike to practice their craft. The Center offers a myriad of educational opportunities to Orlando’s creative and innovative community. From studios dedicated to video production, audio production and photography to labs designed for makerspace use and game design, individuals utilize the Center’s abundant resources to gain hands-on experience and collaborate with peers. May the 4th - Star Wars Celebration
Celebrate May the 4th, Star Wars Day, at the Orlando Public Library's Melrose Center with activities, movie screenings and a photo op with their newest team member, R2-KN3! Registration required for the workshops, which will include creating Star Wars model ships and movie props, or crochet amigurumi. Yom HaShoah Commemorative Event
