DTO BUSINESS NEWS & HAPPENINGSAdventHealth's Community Health Improvement GrantsAdventHealth is offering $1.2 million in grants to local nonprofits for projects that are addressing Central Florida’s mental and behavioral health challenges. These Community Health Improvement Grants aim to improve access to resources and enhance community wellness. Due to the increase in kids facing mental illness amid a shortage of resources, AdventHealth has intensified its efforts in this area. Nonprofit organizations serving Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties are eligible to apply for grants. The deadline to submit a letter of intent is on Monday, July 24, 2023. Applications can be submitted here.PLATFORM at OMAThe Orlando Museum of Art is proud to present PLATFORM, a quarterly one-night-only event capturing the spirit of Orlando's artistic community. It invites creatives, admirers, and arts advocates to come together, providing an inclusive opportunity to exchange ideas and inspiration.  A selection of curated works will be exhibited in the museum rotunda. Works will present various media, from visual arts to performance art, digital media, and even sound design. This event is free for OMA Members and $15 for non-members. CITY OF ORLANDO UPDATESSpecial Events Grants Applications Close August 1stThe CRA’s Special Events Grant Program supports diverse arts and cultural opportunities to encourage a variety of entertainment within the area. The purpose of this program is to provide funding through grants to support events that promote the goals and objectives of CRA’s Redevelopment Plan for the area, the DTOutlook. Applications for events taking place November 2023 - April 2024 are now open and will close at 11:59 pm on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. Click here for the application.Mayor Dyer's Boards & BrewsJoin Mayor Dyer and representatives from the Citizen Advisory Boards on Wednesday, August 30, at 5:30pm at The Monroe in downtown Orlando for the Boards and Brews event to learn how you can make an impact by serving on a city board. City Advisory Boards bring new ideas to the table and give a voice to all of the diverse segments of our community, providing the input needed to help the city make the best, most informed, and inclusive decisions possible. This custom Bicycle Friendly Business Program will help to build a strong bike culture that welcomes and celebrates bicycling by encouraging businesses to become certified as League of American Bicyclists’ Bicycle Friendly Businesses. The program is open to all businesses within the City of Orlando. To be certified, organizations must apply to The League and demonstrate how they support the bicycling community. The deadline to apply is November 2, 2023. Click here to apply now!New Pilot Grant ProgramOrange County Arts & Cultural Affairs' Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee and Sustainability Committee will review proposals for a new grant program funding projects encouraging community improvement related to economic, environmental and/or societal issues. Applicant organizations must be receiving Cultural Tourism Funding in the current funding cycle (FY23CT) and involve a true collaboration with an artist or arts organization from an underserved community.
