Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando Breaks Ground for New Shelter
Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando began a new chapter on Tuesday, April 25th at the ground breaking of their new shelter on South John Young Parkway. The new $14 million, 25,000-square-foot-facility will feature air conditioning for all dogs, individualized cat condos, indoor/outdoor “catios” and one of the largest shelter medical spaces in Florida. The 8.2-acre property backs up to Lake Catherine, allowing space for outdoor walking trails. Pet Alliance leaders anticipate the new shelter, which sits across from Orange County Public Works and near Interstate 4, will open in March 2025 and will help the organization place 7,000 animals into new homes annually.
