Caribbean American Heritage Festival & Expo
Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is hosting the Caribbean American Heritage Festival & Expo in their front yard this Sunday, August 14, at 1pm. This will be a free multicultural celebration showcasing the cultural diversity of Orlando and the Caribbean American community with steelpan music, Junk-A-Noo parade, Tasa Drumming, African Drumming, Indian Dancing, Art & Craft booths, Chamber & Business booths and Caribbean Food booths. Anthology by Creative City Project 
Join Creative City Project for a night of stories & spirits at their event; Anthology. This experience will run from August 19th to the 21st at 6:30pm and 8:30pm. Four writers’ original works are paired with four 3oz custom cocktail tastings, designed to bring a new level of immersion into the art of fiction. Taming My Monsters: A Survivors’ Son’s Story with Mark Newhouse
The Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center of Florida hosts Mark Newhouse for his virtual discussion, "Taming My Monsters: A Survivors' Son's Story" on August 19th at 12-1pm. Born in Germany to Holocaust Survivors, Mark Newhouse shares his journey of living with his parents’ experiences through personal anecdotes, humor, and dramatic readings which have been called a “tribute to the immutable human spirit”. Mark, a former Long Island teacher, will be joined by his son, Keith Newhouse, the author of My Tio’s Pulse, an award-winning children’s book inspired by the Pulse nightclub tragedy. Mark and Keith are a dynamic father-son duo of social activism, each one committed to championing the message that love is stronger than hate. Register for this moving experience via Zoom here.

Mayor Buddy is Hosting a Virtual Book Club!
The Orange County Library System presents Mayor Buddy's Book Club on Zoom, August 17th at 4-5pm.
