UCF Emergency Management Receives National Recognition 
The UCF Department of Emergency Management was named the 2021 WeatherReady Nation Ambassador of Excellence for East Central Florida in September. Each year, the National Weather Service (NWS) WeatherReady Nation (WRN) requests each branch across the country to nominate a partner who has “shown exemplary efforts toward helping build a WeatherReady Nation.” Way to go!

City Council Approves $3 Million Package for Downtown Projection Park
The City of Orlando Council approved a $3 million project in the downtown business district. The new park will be named Art² and will be built on the southwestern corner of Orange Avenue and Robinson Street. The project was awarded to audio/visual company and DOP member Ascend Studios. The park will incorporate a two-story structure built with shipping containers that will house a coffee/gift shop and a special event venue on the second floor. Other notable features include hammocks, large-scale video boards, and space for two food trucks; one of which will be used for six-month residencies and the other will be rotated on a more regular basis.

Barton Malow Wins "AGC in the Community" Award for the Fourth Time
Barton Malow won the AGC award in the Community Award for the fourth time at the Associated General Contractors  of America (AGC) national convention! This year, they were recognized for the 2020 Community Week event and its emphasis on virtual volunteer opportunities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Learn more here. 

Visit Orlando - Power Hour Luncheon
Join Visit Orlando for an update on one of Downtown Orlando’s most anticipated projects: Creative Village. Leaders of the team behind the project will share how the project is transforming the former Amway Arena site into a 68-acre mixed-use, transit oriented, urban infill neighborhood in the heart of Downtown.
