HYDRA: Solo Exhibition featuring underwater photography by Jim Hobart
Founder of Macbeth Studio, Jim Hobart owned his first camera at 12 years old, and has been a professional photographer for 15+ years. In 2017, he decided to try underwater photography. After many practice attempts in various pools, he started to develop his own technique and style. The result is the HYDRA series of underwater images. "Hydra" refers to a genus of small, fresh-water organisms native to the temperate and tropical regions. Biologists are especially interested in Hydra because of their unusual regenerative ability – they do not appear to die of old age, or even to age at all. Hydra are essentially immortal. This Friday, September 10 at 6pm, please join Jim and other community members for a cocktail reception at the opening of this gallery show. Complimentary beer and wine will be served.
