MORE ON THIS IS DOWNTOWN.
We Just Can't Get Enough.
We hope you enjoyed the first session of This is Downtown as much as we did! Thank you again to Dr. Sean Snaith, Director of University of Central Florida Institute of Economic Competitiveness, for sharing his insights with us. For more economic forecasts from UCF, visit iec.ucf.edu.

Here are a few takeaways from last week's webinar:

  • According to Dr. Snaith, Florida’s economy is already progressing on a V-shaped recovery and is expected to fully recover in 2021.
  • The employment rate in Florida is decreasing rapidly, and the state GDP forecasts a sharp rebound reaching a peak in 2021.
  • A driving factor in Orlando’s economic recovery will be the high demand for housing. In turn, this high demand for housing will create a higher demand for jobs in construction.
  • Orlando can expect the most job growth in construction, professional and business services, and leisure and hospitality.
  • Once vaccination becomes widespread, tourists will return in high numbers to Orlando.

Watch Party.
The recording is now available for your viewing pleasure on our YouTube channel. Watch it for the first time, replay it, or feel free to share it with others who may not have been able to join us.

Up Next.
Save the date for the next session of This is Downtown when we discuss the 'suit' side of healthcare and the topic of healthcare management and informatics. More details to follow.
