SUMMER SCHOOL 1: Choices & Dating

Money Talks from Economist Radio
Money Talks: TikTok goes the clock
"TikTok, a video-sharing app, is caught up in the US-China clash. Can the firm restructure itself to address concerns over privacy and security? Also, why the pandemic has meant some households are awash with cash. And, a question of judgment. Patrick Lane hosts."
The Great Data-Driven Restaurant Makeover
"One table can make all the difference... The owner of New York's Adda Indian Canteen has one table in his restaurant that's underperforming the others. And in a business with razor-thin margins, that's a real problem. In this special collaboration with Sally Helm and NPR's Planet Money, we enlist the help of a tape measure-wielding professor to try to turn the loser table into a winner. It turns out that how a restaurant treats its real estate is more important than how it cooks its food."
Every Little Thing
F*ck Yeah: Can Cursing Make You Stronger?
"Flora is out this week force feeding her niblings flamingo facts, so we’re rerunning one of our favorite episodes. Does swearing make you more powerful? Plus, we talk to someone who turns the “mother f*ckers” into “manhole covers” for the TV versions of movies. Guests: Cognitive scientist Ben Bergen, author of What the F***; Gwen Whittle, supervising sound editor at Skywalker Sound. Thanks to caller Mark for the monkey flippin’ question, and to Mark’s dad Steve."
